Departure from your present self
Humans are animals who write stories. Some find it apealing to write to amuse. Some write to make people anxious and miserable and to ruin their digestion. Regardless of this, the only text that is really worth writing is the one we don’t have the courage or strength to write. There is no greater agony than bearing these untold words inside our bodies. That mysery is troubling us. By imagening this text as a map of a unknown plateau, we can see the words as the bright silver pins that mark the crossroads. For this reason we should not whine when things are not going our way, because they are going the right way for the text. We should write as we dream. When we dream/write we are like criminals. We kill. We kill with a lot of enjoyment. But we are also the most terrified person on earth. That is hardly an escape from reality, but rather a departure from your present self. It is a way of understanding it.
